Consultant Neurosurgeon
Dr Christian Brogna is a consultant neurosurgeon, an international expert in advanced brain and spinal cord tumor surgery. Former neurosurgeon at the prestigious King’s College Hospital in London where he worked from 2013 to 2020. Currently he does consultations and surgeries in Rome, Italy.
Dr Christian Brogna graduated with honours from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and specialized in neurosurgery in 2009 at the same university. In 2013 he obtained a PhD in Neuroscience with a thesis on surgical approaches to deep brain tumors in respect of brain functions.
His unique training course allowed him to first learn from the world best neurosurgeons and then apply and implement advanced intraoperative techniques and technologies at King’s College Hospital in London.
His numerous international experiences include those dedicated to:
- the in-depth study of the anatomy of the central nervous system and of the white connecting fibers of the brain at the Department of Microsurgical Anatomy directed by Prof. Evandro De Oliveira and Prof. Guilherme Ribas in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
- in-depth study of awake surgery and brain mapping techniques in brain tumor surgery at the Department of Neurosurgery of the University of Montpellier, France under the guidance of Prof. Hugue Duffau.
- advancing knowledge in peripheral nervous system surgery at the Millesi Center in Vienna.
- the acquisition of the most advanced oncological and vascular microneurosurgery techniques at the Department of Neurosurgery of the Yeditepe University in Istanbul under the guidance of prof. Ugur Ture and prof. Gazi Yasargil, pioneer of modern microneurosurgery.
Author of numerous international scientific publications (H-Index = 17), he carries out research projects on innovative technologies and therapies in the treatment of brain tumors.
Dr Christian Brogna performs surgery on tumor and vascular conditions of the brain and spinal cord, on pathologies of the spine and peripheral nervous system. He performs surgeries in Rome, Italy. His wide international network allows him to offer patient centered cutting-edge treatments.
